blue_van - Sealing Windshield to Fix Water Leak

I didn't do a great job of documenting the work. The adhesive on the top of the windshield failed. It allowed rain to run off the roof right into the cab and come down the ceiling, collecting around the rear AC controls, and ultimately pooling in the cup holders.

The fix was to pull out the rubber strip that lines the windshield, apply some rust treatment to the couple locations that were starting to rust, sealing the windshield with self leveling silicon windshield sealant, then reinstalling the rubber gasket and caulking that too.

I write this about 6 months after the job was completed and am happy to report the van has been water tight since the repair.

FYI, we did call Safelite to see if they would remove and reseal the windshield. They will only do that if also replacing the glass. What a crock.
